Community and Indigenous Engagement Coordinator Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking a Community and Indigenous Engagement Coordinator to join our Development Team. Reporting to the Community & Indigenous Relations Manager, this role will assist with development activities for wind, solar and battery energy storage projects in British Columbia (BC), supporting work from the early project stages through to the transition to the construction team. The successful candidate will help to coordinate a wide range of community engagement initiatives aimed at fostering and maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with local communities and Indigenous Nations. This role requires a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, communities, and lived experiences. It is intended for a candidate who either identifies as Indigenous or has demonstrated strong cultural knowledge, lived experience, and meaningful connection with Indigenous communities. These qualities are essential to the roles purpose and impact. Responsibilities: Assist in planning and coordinating consultation and engagement activities for projects in BC, including the preparation of engagement materials, and coordinating mailouts. Scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and documenting outcomes. Maintain an organized and up-to-date engagement log and records with support from third-party consultants. Support the development and delivery of communication materials and updates for Indigenous partners. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including environmental, regulatory, legal, and project development. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of messaging and engagement strategies. Support relationship-building with Indigenous partners and community representatives. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engagement strategies and approaches. Ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions and communication. Support the development of key messaging and other public communications, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have the following: University degree or equivalent preferred but not required. 2 + years experience in similar role. High level of computer proficiency and comfort working with digital tools and systems. Enthusiasm for renewable energy and communication. Demonstrable experience with data management and/or communication tracking. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Detail oriented with strong follow-through. Ability to accurately record and prepare technical documentation. Experience with consultation records data management platforms preferred but not required. Experience working with or alongside Indigenous communities or local governments, and with diverse people is considered a strong asset. Demonstrated work-ethic and willingness to learn. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a remote setting with minimal supervision. Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable collaborating with remote teams via virtual platforms. Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and community events (some evenings/weekends may be required).
