Our client, located in the heart of downtown Toronto, is looking for a Bilingual Payroll/HR Specialist to join their dynamic team. Permanent position, 5 days a week Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Hybrid work model Salary between $80,000 and $85,000 depending on experience This role combines financial accounting, HR practices, payroll processing, and vendor management in a dynamic and engaging environment. As the Bilingual Payroll Specialist , you will play a central role in the bi-weekly payroll processing, management of activities related to contract vendors, and coordination with the Finance, HR, and Strategic Partnership teams. You will act as a payroll expert, leveraging your analytical skills, precision, and ability to thrive in a complex environment. Responsibilities: Manage accurate, confidential, and timely payroll processing. Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on payroll-related issues. Perform audits, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end and year-end processes. Serve as the main point of contact for Finance teams regarding labor costs and payroll data. Maintain functional expertise in internal systems (time and attendance, HRIS, SAP, etc.). Ensure compliance with provincial payroll legislation. Manage processes related to contract employees: reports, commission calculations, remittances, conversions, audits, and stakeholder communications. Extract and analyze sales data and prepare corresponding taxable benefits. Collaborate closely with HR, compensation, and vendor teams on contractual and financial follow-ups. Required Profile: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a payroll or finance department. Payroll certification (PCP), finance degree, or equivalent. Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) is required . Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas). Experience with HRIS systems (Workday is an asset). Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with a high degree of accuracy. Good knowledge of commission principles and compensation plans.
