Position Title: Cost and Progress Tracking Specialist (1-Year Contract)Department: Operations Reports To: Project Controls Manager Location: Metro Vancouver Area Schedule: 10-hour days, Monday to Thursday (Overtime on Fridays around month-end) Work Arrangement: Onsite 4 days/week + WFH Fridays when requiredOverviewOur client, a Canadian-owned industrial contractor serving the oil & gas, mining, and power sectors, is seeking a Cost and Progress Tracking Specialist to support a major energy project in the Metro Vancouver Area. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this role focuses on monitoring project costs, tracking earned progress, and supporting project performance reporting throughout the execution phase.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update detailed cost tracking systems, including commitments, actuals, forecasts, and changes.Provide accurate and timely cost reports, variance analyses, and forecasts.Track physical progress using earned hours and progress curves; support earned value analysis.Coordinate with field, procurement, planning, and finance teams to validate data.Align progress and cost data with the project schedule for integrated reporting.Support month-end reporting, client updates, and audits.QualificationsDegree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.At least 12 years of experience in cost control and progress tracking on industrial construction projects.Proficient in cost systems (e.g., Excel, SAP, EcoSys); strong Excel skills required.Familiarity with EVM, progress tracking, and construction project reporting.Experience in oil & gas, mining, or power industries is preferred.Strong communication, analytical, and team collaboration skills.Working ConditionsSite-based work at client facility.May require overtime around reporting periods.Exposure to various site conditions (weather, equipment, etc.).
