This is a hands-on leadership role not project management where your technical knowledge and strategic thinking will directly impact infrastructure reliability and innovation.What Youll Do:Lead the design, operation, and long-term planning of a 69kV/12.5kV electrical distribution system.Manage a skilled team of engineers, trades, and technical staff.Ensure compliance with Canadian Electrical Code, WorkSafeBC, and MMCD standards.Collaborate with regulators and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.Respond to outages and provide expert guidance under pressure.Guide engineers and skilled trades in day-to-day work activities, project planning and oversight, maintenance operations, and more. Provide technical oversight, performance management, and ensure team members have the tools and knowledge to execute their roles safely and efficiently.Collaborate with regulators, utilities, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.Provide expert advice for academic initiatives related to electrical power systems and utility integration.Create or present statistics reports on outages or power quality events.Create tender specifications for capital replacement projects, collaborate with Procurement to issue tender documents, review and score tender submissions.*Respond to power outages and provide administrative leadership that could affect timeliness of power restoration. Perform follow-up incident reporting and mitigation plan.
