Join a team that values Safety, Servant Leadership, Quality Service, Innovation, Continuous Improvement, Fairness, and Profit with a Purpose. **Position Overview:** **Barnhart** **Canada** is currently accepting applications for an **Sales Technician** supporting our Western Canadian operations based out of the **Ruth Lake office in Fort McMurray.** The successful candidate will be motivated and task oriented with a high attention to detail. This will include evaluating the scope of work and developing estimates based on our clients crane and heavy haul needs from detailed specifications, construction drawings, risk evaluation and material take-off techniques. This individual will also work closely with our operations and engineering teams to ensure proper execution of estimate turnover. This includes researching work locations, conducting site visits, scaling crane jobs, conducting route studies and timely review and submission of RFP documents.**Successful applicants must be living locally in Fort McMurray or willing to relocate.** **Why join our team?** * Strong Company Culture and Core Values. * Competitive wages. * Comprehensive benefits including medical and dental. * Matching RSP program. **Your success will be determined by your ability to:** * Participate in meetings with clients and other stakeholders to discuss project requirements. * Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and obtain quotes for materials, equipment and services. * Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to determine equipment requirements and prepare project estimates. * Determine pricing strategies which are competitive yet profitable for the company. * Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms as necessary. * Develop and maintain cost databases and pricing models to support accurate and efficient estimating processes. * Participate in pre-job meetings, job walks and site surveys * Layout and select equipment, prepare basic lift and rigging plans in AutoCAD, with load-out lists * Become proficient in 3D Liftplanner software * Record activities, contacts and all sales transactions utilizing IFS * Collaborate with branch resources to select the best solution * Assist sales in identification of key contacts and opportunities for account growth * Provide complete and accurate details for job hand-off to branch dispatch * Execute a personal development plan - technical and professional training * Develop a working knowledge of all branch tools and solutions Promote and participate in leading safety as a company value **Qualifications:** * Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related technical diploma, or combination of related education and experience * Minimum 2 years of Construction Field Engineering/Technical Support or Project Management experience * Proficient in the use of Autodesk products such as AutoCAD and Navisworks * Strong understanding of crane functions, capabilities and standards would be an asset * Proven track record of business development results including prospecting new business and closing profitable work * Skilled in identifying, approaching, presenting and building relationships with decision makers within a complex sales environment. Must be comfortable with all levels from field craft to executives. * Mechanically inclined and a proven track record of success in rigging, lifting, fabrication, maintenance or transportation execution * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Computer Software and Management Reporting expertise in CRM tools
