If you thrive in high-stakes environments and excel at building consensus among complex stakeholders, this is your chance to lead projects that matter.About The RoleReporting to the Executive Director, Major Capital Projects, this role leads the delivery of major urban and rural transportation construction and rehabilitation programs in and around the City of Calgary. With a focus on large-scale, complex projects using standard Design Bid Build models and alternative delivery models such as Design-Build and Public-Private Partnerships, youll oversee all facets of project executionfrom strategic planning and resource allocation to contract management and turnover to operations. As the departments Project Sponsor, you will represent TECs interests with municipalities, engineering consultants, constructors, utilities, and internal partners to ensure projects are executed on time, on budget, and to specification.Your Key Responsibilities IncludeLeading the design and construction of high-profile urban and rural transportation projectsManaging diverse contract models and proactively resolving claims and disputesOverseeing a $500M annual capital budget with strong financial controls and reportingCollaborating across departments to ensure consistency in technical standards and delivery executionSupervising and developing staff while maintaining high service standardsEngaging stakeholders to align project delivery with community and governmental prioritiesGuiding policy development and capital planning initiativesAdministering engineering consultant contracts and contributing to performance evaluationsEnsuring effective knowledge transfer and succession planning within the branch and wider departmentProviding expert advice and briefings to executive leadership and ministry representativesPlease click on this link to view the job description for this position.APS CompetenciesCompetencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans.
