Job Description The Operations Manager is a key role that assists the Warehouse/Branch Manager in achieving business success by contributing to company goals and objectives. This individual plays a vital part in maintaining smooth and efficient warehouse/distribution operations, including supervising, training, and coaching department personnel. The position reports to the Warehouse Manager but may also report to the Branch Manager. Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating manpower for all warehouse operations, ensuring daily activities run smoothly and adhere to company policies and procedures. Additionally, this role involves hiring suitable team members, providing supervision for the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of freight, products, and supplies. This includes import and export freight related to air and ocean operations, instructing staff to ensure timely shipping of production orders to customers in adherence to delivery schedules. Furthermore, the Operations Manager will assist in maintaining strict control over inventory levels, ensuring proper documentation, and enforcing corporate policies regarding security and safety. Other responsibilities include overseeing a team of warehouse employees, delegating tasks, training, coaching, planning, and evaluating staff. The Operations Manager must maintain open lines of communication between management, customer service staff, supervisors, and lead hands in a respectful, effective, and professional manner.
