Mier Temporary Staffing is hiring!Job Title: CNC MachinistLocation: Central Region, ONJob Type: Full time, Temporary-PermanentSalary: $35.00-$42.00/hourShifts: RotationOur client in Central Region, ON is actively looking for a Heavy CNC Machinist (5 ton) to join their team.Job Duties:Operate large vertical turning machines combined with live millingMachine very large/heavy workpieces (8' diameter and up)Perform workpiece set-ups, clamping, and work holdingSelect appropriate tooling and determine order of operationsPerform CNC programming for standard part geometriesRig and hoist large and heavy loads (30 to 100 tons)Conduct quality control checks using precision measurement toolsUse manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic hand toolsDeburr and clean up finished componentsMaintain a clean and organized work areaMentor apprentices and assist with continuous improvement opportunitiesQualifications:Minimum of 7 years of experience with large vertical boring mills and live toolingCertified machinist or equivalent combination of schooling and hands-on experienceExperience with machining large workpieces (castings, weldments, and solid blocks)Familiarity with Fagor and/or Heidenhain controllers is an assetStrong problem-solving skills and desire for continuous learningAttention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionIf you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume.
