Job Title: Maintenance ManagerLocation: Calgary ABDepartment: OperationsReports to: Director of Maintenance Key Relationships: Facilities, Operations, External Vendors, Corporate,Role Purpose/ Summary:The maintenance engineer is responsible for ensuring equipment, systems and infrastructure runs efficiently and reliably. The maintenance engineer will work with the site maintenance teams and third-party equipment manufacturers to: Design maintenance procedures and strategies for industrial equipment and building utilities Identify faults and OEE issues Respond to major equipment breakdowns, determining the root cause and arranging for repairs or replacements Monitoring maintenance costs and parts inventoriesAbout us: Decibel is a consumer-focused cannabis company focused on delivering products that delight customers through a commitment to robust innovation and product quality. We live by our Actions to Live By We Grind (persistence and resourcefulness), We Craft (taking care in every detail) and We Care (inclusive and passionate about our business).Key responsibilities:Create equipment specific maintenance procedures and plansCollaborate with technicians and operators to gather accurate data for reporting purposesGenerating reports and analyzing data on equipment and utilities performanceInvestigating machine failures or unexpected maintenance problemsDetermine spare parts requirements and monitor spare part inventoriesTraining staff on equipment operating and maintenance proceduresArranging for equipment repairs, upgrades and replacements including:Procuring replacement parts, Coordinating vendors and contractors, Communicating with production staff and leadership, Supervising install, CommissioningAdhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policiesStay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practicesConduct other duties as requiredWhat we can offer you:Competitive base salaryGroup health and dental benefits through Group SourceHuge opportunities for career progression as our organization continues to growExcellent training and development opportunitiesA leadership team dedicated to every employee' s development and success Qualifications: 3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (cannabis, pharmaceutical, food & beverage preferred) working with automationPost-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical, chemical, industrial, mechatronics)Demonstrated ability to coordinate work in a cross-functional teamExperience leading Root Cause Analysis investigationsCertification in formal process improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma considered an assetStrong analytical skillsStrong and effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong documentation and organization skillsStrong computer skills Key competencies:Team oriented focus and coaching management style an assetProactive and creative problem solvingOrganized with a high attention to detailAbility to adapt quickly to changing priorities, demands and timelinesCommitment to continuous professional development.Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.Closing remarks: We'll be evaluating the ideal candidate against these three things: 1) If they're a team player with a can-do attitude. 2) If they've demonstrated the ability to grow and develop their skillset.3) If they are inspired to innovate and continuously improve the way they do their work.
