Effective collaboration with internal and external partners is essential. The position will drive key claims strategic initiatives and operational success through positive employee engagement, while fostering a culture of accountability. This is a critical role that bridges claims expertise with business strategy and reinsurer relationship management.This position offers a hybrid work schedule. This position may require some travel, particularly to member companies within Ontario.As the successful candidate, you will:Manage and oversee reinsurance claims from reporting to settlement, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual obligationsAnalyze and interpret reinsurance treaties, facultative certificates and coverage termsMonitor, review and approve reinsurance claims reserves and payments, and report details to reinsurersProvide guidance and coaching to a team of claims analystsCollaborate with our member companies on complex claims issuesWork within the Claims leadership team on strategic and operational initiatives for the claims departmentAnalyze and report on claims trending and financial activities of the claims departmentMonitor the external environment for developments that could impact the claims department operations/processesYour Skills and QualificationsYou have a bachelors degree or a combination of equivalent industry certification (i.e. CIP, FCIP) and/or experienceYou have a minimum of 10 years experience in claims handling within the casualty line of business, particularly general and commercial liability and automobile tort.
