Position Title: Heavy Duty MechanicDepartment: Mine and EquipmentLocation: Tuvatu, FijiRoster: TBDReports to Position: Maintenance ManagerThis Position Description describes your role and accountabilities. It also includes key relationships, inside and outside Lion One, and the skills, knowledge, experience, and behaviours that are vital to your success in the role. At times you may be expected to perform reasonable additional duties that are related to your role but are not specified in your position description as directed by your supervisor.PurposeTo provide excellent repair and maintenance for the Mine and Equipment Department of Lion One.Key Accountabilities or Activities Check all mining equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunction Implement solutions for all defects and malfunctions and ensure equipment downtime is minimized Equipment removal, installation, alignment troubleshooting and repair Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers specifications Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment Perform repair work on heavy trucks and other mobile equipment Open work- orders, find parts and complete parts list in work-orders using all available resources Other duties assigned by the Maintenance ManagerCode of Conduct Adherence at all times to the Lion One Code of Conduct. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Minimum of 5 years mechanical experience in an underground mining operation Ability to schedule and prioritise tasks. Have an understanding and strong commitment for workplace health and safety A positive, can- do driven attitude Physically fitKnowledge: Good practical understanding of Drilling and Mining methods Sound understanding of how the equipment works on a daily basis A solid grasp of reading manuals and equipment informationExperience: Minimum of 5 years industry experience as a Heavy Duty MechanicEducation, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences: Trade Qualified Heavy Equipment such as a Red Seal Certificate Current manual drivers licenceSignificant Working RelationshipsInternal: Mine OperationsExternal: Fiji Government Community and traditional land holders Consultants
