You will also prepare Small Claims Court legal documents, represent the company at small claims pre-trials, and act as a witness at Superior Court examinations for discovery and Small Claims Court trials.Key Responsibilities:Receiving and reviewing incoming calls and emails from customersCommunicating with customers by phone and email to arrange for remediation of property damageWorking with emergency contractors to provide emergency property remediation services to customers and to obtain repair estimatesWork with company field team to investigate claims, including by gathering and preserving evidenceWhere appropriate, communicating with customers to settle property damage claimsReceiving and reviewing Small Claims Court proceedings from subrogated insurers for property damage claims, including preparing DefencesCommunicating with subrogated insurer adjusters and legal counsel to investigate and, where appropriate, settle Small Claims Court proceedingsCommunicating with potentially liable third-parties to seek indemnificationWorking with the companys legal team on assessing liabilityDocumenting investigations stepsAssessing damages, including by determination of actual cash value of claims submittedAssisting Claims Manager with escalated customer complaintsQualifications:Excellent customer service orientation and strong communications skillsStrong investigation and negotiating skillsSound oral and written advocacy skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentComputer skills: strong ability with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) essentialKnowledge of the insurance estimating system; Xactimate is preferredUnderstanding of the insurance property damage subrogation processKnowledge with or experience in Small Claims Court an assetParalegal license is an assetEnercare is an equal opportunity employer.
