Venor is proud to partner with Discovery Garden in their search for a Business Development Representative to join their team.Discovery Garden helps libraries, museums, galleries, and archives build and manage digital collections and institutional repositories. From Babe Ruth's telegrams at the Baseball Hall of Fame to Golden Gate Bridge photos at the San Francisco Public Library, they ensure prized digital assets are preserved and accessible. Founded in 2010 by the creators of Islandora, Discovery Garden has spent over 15 years delivering open-source, Drupal-based solutions and custom hosting services. Today, they are a trusted partner for organizations seeking flexible, future-proof digital preservation systems.Discovery Garden is seeking a Business Development Representative to join their team. In this role, you'll work directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and play a key part in their growth strategy by identifying and generating new sales opportunities through strategic prospecting (Phone, Email, Social Media, Meeting Booking), marketing (Email Campaigns, Organize Webinars), and account management (Regular Account Reviews, Customer Service). Your primary responsibility will be to create a pipeline of potential opportunities and set up meetings and demonstrations with key decision-makers in sectors like higher education, galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM).What You'll Be Doing:- Proactively generate leads through phone outreach, personalized email campaigns, social media, and networking within the Islandora user community.- Research and qualify prospects, understanding their repository challenges, goals, and readiness to modernize.- Schedule and participate in discovery meetings, supporting the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to closing.- Collaborate with technical teams to align messaging and outreach strategies.- Maintain accurate records of all outreach, engagement, and lead status in Salesforce (CRM).- Share insights and feedback to inform product positioning and future campaigns.What We're Looking For:- Candidates currently legally entitled to work in Canada (strong preference for PEI-based applicants).- Experience in sales, lead generation, account management, or customer service.- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships remotely.- Self-motivated, organized, and proactive in learning about clients and services.- Familiarity with CRM systems (or willingness to learn).- A passion for digital access, education, or cultural heritage is a plus.Why Join Discovery Garden?- Be part of a small, high-performing team where your contributions are visible and valued.- Work at the forefront of digital preservation and open-source innovation.- Support impactful missions in education, culture, and knowledge-sharing.- Competitive base salary + performance bonus.- Ongoing mentorship and growth opportunities in sales, strategy, and client engagement.At Venor and Discovery Garden, we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace.
