SUPERVISOR TEACHERFull-Time PermanentAbout the Role:As the Site Supervisor Teacher, you will be responsible for the daily management, oversight, and operations in planning and developing an age-appropriate program for the designated Bloomsbury Academy. Working closely with other Lead Teachers and Bloomsbury staff to create and implement developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 18 months to 5. Overseeing the assigned site, you will be responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive environment that supports childrens holistic development while adhering to regulatory standards and organizational philosophy. During the initial phase of our Elm & Ledbury Bloomsbury Academy location, the Site Supervisor Teacher will lead a classroom for the first 6-12 months. As we are a highly collaborative team, this role is on-site full-time, and the successful candidate will be required to work on-site Monday to Friday.Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the designated Bloomsbury Academy to ensure smooth functioning with students, parents, and staffEnsure compliance with relevant standards and regulations including the Child Care and Early Years Act, ELECT, How Does Learning Happen?, and health/safety protocolsIn conjunction with the Director, development and enhancement of the program with an entrepreneurial focus, seeking innovative ways to enrich childrens experiences and foster growthSupport Lead Teachers to design and execute a learning program tailored to the developmental needs of the children in each classroomResponsible for ensuring that all Bloomsbury Academy childcare policies and procedures are implemented and followedMonitor the inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. Make purchases for the site, staying within the site budget or submit purchase requests to the Director for approvalAssist the Director in hiring and onboarding new staff and monitor staff performance, mentoring and coaching at the designated siteCollaborate with other Site Supervisor Teachers and serve as a liaison between site staff and the Head OfficeProvide a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of developmentMaintain accurate and complete records for children, such as updating emergency contact sheets, allergy lists, etc.Observe and assess children’s progress and behaviour to ensure programs meet identified individual and group needs. Recommend referral of children to outside agencies for special needsFacilitate a variety of activities to engage childrens interests and promote learning across different domainsMaintain a positive and supportive atmosphere through fair and consistent behaviour guidance techniqueFoster collaborative relationships with families through ongoing communication, support, and resource provisionQualifications and Experiences:Early Childhood Education Diploma or provincially recognized equivalency requiredMinimum of 5 years of teaching experience in early childhood education or related field and a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role considered an assetRegistration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators required and Ontario College of Teachers is considered an assetDemonstrated experience in overseeing the operations of an educational institution, preferably in a childcare or daycare settingExperience in curriculum development, implementation, and assessmentKnowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), How Does Learning Happen, and ELEC document considered an assetDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain open communication with colleagues, supervisors, and familiesConsiderable proficiency in navigating a technologically rich school environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and curriculumCommitment to maintaining professional standards and ongoing professional development, including attending workshops, conferences, and in-house trainingExcellent attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situationsStrong understanding of confidentiality protocols and ethical standards in childcare settingsWhy Bloomsbury Academy and Fitzrovia:Bloomsbury Academy is a high-quality learning program with a beautifully designed learning space, a dedicated playground, and a gymnasium conveniently located within Fitzrovia Collection communities.
