Instructional Designer – Full-Time | Hybrid (3x/week in-office – Vaughan) Hours: 40/week | Team: Enterprise Transformation Office Interview Process: Three rounds (one virtual, two in-person) At the core of our transformation efforts is the belief that effective training is both strategic and human-centered. We’re seeking an Instructional Designer who can bring more than just content creation skills—they can bring strategy, structure, and curiosity to the table. This person will partner across departments to extract training needs, understand the business context, and build engaging, scalable solutions that meet teams where they are. This is a fast-paced, service-based environment, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in complexity, asks the right questions, and has a deep understanding of what great training looks like in a real-world setting. What You’ll Do • Act as the front face of training initiatives: gather requirements, define timelines, and recommend strategic learning approaches. • Collaborate cross-functionally to extract project needs and translate them into effective training deliverables. • Design, develop, and deliver a variety of training formats—eLearning, microlearning, video content, instructor-led training, and job aids. • Support onboarding and training for transformative projects, including system and application launches. • Facilitate pilot sessions, Train-the-Trainer programs, and support rollout within the Learning Management System (LMS). • Recommend training strategies that align with business goals, user capabilities, and available technology. • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and delivery formats that improve training efficiency and impact. ⸻ What We’re Looking For • 3–5 years of instructional design experience, preferably in a corporate or enterprise environment. • Ability to extract training needs from business requirements and propose solutions based on what’s truly needed—not just what’s requested. • Demonstrated experience in developing engaging content (including video, short-form content, and microlearning). • Solid understanding of adult learning theory, instructional methodologies, and change management principles. • Proficiency in Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Vyond, or other relevant authoring/video editing tools. • Experience managing LMS content and training logistics from design to deployment. • Ability to operate in a fast-moving, service-driven environment where learners may not be tech-savvy and may require creative training access points. • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across stakeholders and departments. ⸻ Bonus Points For • Certifications such as CPTD, CIDD, or eLearning development certificates. • Experience supporting change management initiatives. • Portfolio of previous training videos or sample content. • Background in transportation, utilities, or telecom training environments. ⸻ We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, abilities, and identities. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the hiring process.
