Mechanical Maintenance Specialist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical work in various areas of the mill site. Job Responsibilities: Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and utilizing calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment, troubleshoot complex machines and systems, and adjust processes to optimize quality and productivity. Generate solutions to complex inefficiencies and issues. Assemble, install, test, and maintain equipment, appliances, apparatus, and components using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and ensure compliance and reliability. Provide operational support by performing a range of route activities and advising possible changes to processes to increase reliability. Requirements: Alberta-certified journeyperson. Holds a recognized related trade certificate. 5 7+ years'' experience in manufacturing/forestry maintenance and service or performing other mechanical related duties including machinery and equipment installation, repair, and maintenance. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) an asset. Understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management system. Benefits: A competitive annual salary.
