Job Description

Maintenance Supervisor Job The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the completion of scheduled maintenance jobs using the highest level of safety, quality, and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximize equipment availability and optimize reliability. The role is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with legislated regulations and corporate policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance and experience in heavy industry. They should be able to work well in a team environment, interact with plant personnel, and have excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the safe and effective operation of the maintenance unit and in compliance with OH&S and environmental policies. Assign and review work to perform with millwrights, maintain schedule priority and compliance, and complete maintenance-related jobs according to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Provide reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator and feedback to millwrights on repair jobs including consumption of materials, tools, person-hours, and skill. Oversee the implementation of preventative maintenance actions, including the supervision of workers/contractors. Requirements: Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) certifications with relevant experience. Extensive experience in heavy equipment repair; experience in inspection an asset. Minimum 8 years'' work experience in heavy industry. Optimize skills adequate to jobs and ensure the transfer of technical know-how. Proven experience in executing major work and plant shutdowns. Knowledge or labour laws and personnel management rules. Work quality control, analysis of execution modes and identification of improvements. Experience with Computerized Mechanical Maintenance System (CMMS). Strong communicator (both oral & written). Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant personnel. Highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals. Proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, contractors, etc.). Well organized and systematic.
