Our client, an innovative infrastructure construction firm in Vancouver, BC, with a strong track record of delivering major projects such as the Broadway Subway and Surrey-Langley SkyTrain, is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator to support the preconstruction and bidding process for large-scale civil infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, and transit infrastructure.Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid packages.Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.Participate in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and risk assessments.Collaborate with project managers and field teams to develop construction methodologies and pricing strategies.Track historical cost data and maintain estimating databases and tools.Assist in preparing bid proposals, scope breakdowns, and value engineering options.Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required. Ideal Candidate Requirements:2+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil projects (infrastructure, transit, roads, or utilities).Strong understanding of civil construction techniques, materials, and sequencing.Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, InEight, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications.Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.A diploma or degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
