Job Description:The Offshore Construction Manager oversees multiple team members, ensuring strategic alignment and exceptional performance across one or more project sites. The Offshore Construction Manager addresses complex resource and operational challenges by strategically adapting overarching project plans and setting site-specific priorities.Job Overview:The Construction Manager (Offshore) has overall responsibility for managing and directing all construction related activities for an entire project or worksite, or one or more assigned area(s) within a larger project or worksite. This includes delivering completion of the work on schedule and meets design, budget, quality standards and specifications. Depending on the project or worksite size, the incumbent may be one of several Construction Managers onsite or may be the Companys primary client liaison about all onsite activities or coordinate with the Companys primary client liaison to address job site activities in their assigned area(s). The Construction manager uses best practices and knowledge to mitigate construction risks, ensuring assigned job site operations, personnel, subcontractors, and visitors comply with applicable laws and Company policies and procedures.Base Salary Range: 122,700.00 - 175,900.00Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Responsible for the Navigation, DP or anchor operations in general during their watchResponsible for the general stability of the vessel and as such for the registration of all deck loads and additional weightsResponsible for the supervision, training, and evaluation of all persons in the Bridge crew and maintains and administers discipline to vessel personnelResponsible for coordination of all deck, crane, helicopter and supply boat operations during their watch (While project operations are in progress, the above should be done in close consultation with the OCM/Superintendent and/or Deck Foreman)Responsible for potable water checks prior to bunkering and correct chlorine dosing of bunkered water Be familiar with manuals and procedures, which are applicable for the function, as laid down in the vessel SMSResponsible to ensure that correct PPE is in use by personnel under their authorityEnsure compliance with the vessels Garbage Management Plan Maintain deck and hotel equipment not covered by the engineering departmentSet watches, assign jobs, approve overtime and ensure that assigned jobs are completed successfully by bridge personnelIdentify maintenance needs, set and revise priorities, and assign maintenance activitiesRequisition supplies necessary for the safe efficient operations of vesselAct as the vessels Response Coordinator with reference to the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP) Be familiar with, and capable of operating the vessels GMDSS and other radio and navigational equipmentEnsure that adequate registration of deck loads is maintained during their watchAccurately maintain logbooks, the planned maintenance system and spare part control for deck related equipment Assist with medical emergencies as they occurParticipate in daily pre-shift meetingsAct as primary Vessel Security Officer Maintain Vessel Security Plan and conduct security drillsEnsure current MARSEC levels are followed onboardBe familiar with all McDermott procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to their dutiesRefuse unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practicesTake part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the functionWear, inspect, and care for required personal protective equipment Reports to: MasterSupervises: OICNWs, 2nd Mate, 3rd Mate, DPOs, Bosun Essential Qualifications and Education:Nautical Institute DP Operators Certificate for DP VesselsSTCW95 GMDSSGeneric and Type-Specific ECDIS training (for vessels with ECDIS)Medical First Aid Ship Security OfficerFast Rescue Craft (If assigned to FRC)Nautical Institute Full DP Operators Certificate (for DP Vessels)STCW medical fitness certificate Approved Ship Security Officer CourseSTCW medical fitness certificate- If the vessel is already sailing with sufficient qualified DP Operators to fulfill the DP manning requirements stipulated in the DP Operations Manual, any additional officers over and above the required DP manning levels need not hold this qualificationMinimum 360 Days Sea Time documented as OICNW of which 180 days must be as OICNW on vessels engaged in offshore construction operations About UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
