This opportunity is with a Canadian site north of Timmins Ontario. This client offers chartered travel, accommodations, and meals for the shift rotational schedule. This is a 6-month term with 5 years of construction planned so a very great chance of extension. An excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with this global mining organization as they begin their construction underground mining plans/projects at their existing surface mining productive site.Job Responsibilities Civil Construction Supervisor Manages project contractors by monitoring and controlling performanceMeets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and constructability reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvementsMeets project budgets and timelines by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actionsAccomplishes construction project results by contributing to project scope definition; estimating; enforcing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating contractor works; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change ordersPrevents orders and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, the various regulations and codesMaintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and proceduresEnhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Qualifications and Requirements:Post-secondary education in civil engineering technology preferred; considerable experience in related field will be considered in lieu of formal education5+ years experience in managing the execution of small to medium size projectsKnowledge of project management techniques (i.e., critical path method, progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in estimation, cost monitoring, analyzing and reporting is an assetA Carpenter trades background will be considered an asset as well as mechanical and piping experience.Good organizational skills are required with attention to detailsAbility to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlinesWorking knowledge of regular financial and procurement processes, preferably in construction or engineering projects is an assetSolid report writing, communication and presentation skillsEffective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approachStrong analytical skillsGood work ethic and strong attitude towards safetySound interpersonal and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employeesKnowledge of Ontario OH&S Act & Regulations is considered an assetExperience working at a remote work site is considered an assetInterested applicants should email a resume to melodie@nesworks.com and we will discuss this opportunity further and answer any questions you may have.
