Purchasing Expert Role We are seeking an experienced procurement specialist to join our team. Job Description: To procure goods and services in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies and equipment. Key Responsibilities: Review and analyze requisitions from user departments to ensure adequacy of tender/purchase descriptions and data related to specifications, pricing, delivery, inspection and special conditions. Develop and evaluate procurement specifications to ensure they are conducive to competitive tendering or procurement, and provide justification for non-competitive or sole sourcing arrangements. Negotiate contracts with qualified vendors, ensuring consistency with organizational objectives. Requirements: Qualifications: Relevant education and accreditation with supply chain/procurement associations, such as the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA). Minimum 2 years senior purchasing experience in a high-volume environment. Computer literacy and experience with computerized purchasing systems within higher education. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
