Job Description

Job Title: Offshore Construction Manager ''> Job Description: ''> The Offshore Construction Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing multiple team members, ensuring strategic alignment and exceptional performance across one or more project sites. This includes addressing complex resource and operational challenges by strategically adapting overarching project plans and setting site-specific priorities. ''> Key Responsibilities: ''> ''> Responsible for the Navigation, DP or anchor operations during their watch. ''> Ensures the general stability of the vessel and registers all deck loads and additional weights. ''> Supervises, trains, and evaluates personnel in the Bridge crew, maintaining discipline among vessel personnel. ''> Coordinates deck, crane, helicopter, and supply boat operations during their watch. ''> Conducts potable water checks prior to bunkering and ensures correct chlorine dosing of bunkered water. ''> Familiar with applicable manuals and procedures as laid down in the vessel''s Safety Management System (SMS). ''> Ensures correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used by personnel under their authority. ''> Complies with the vessel''s Garbage Management Plan. ''> Maintains deck and hotel equipment not covered by the engineering department. ''> Assigns jobs, sets watches, approves overtime, and ensures assigned jobs are completed successfully. ''> Identifies maintenance needs, sets priorities, and assigns maintenance activities. ''> Requisitions supplies necessary for safe and efficient vessel operations. ''> Acts as the vessel''s Response Coordinator regarding the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP). ''> Operates the vessel''s Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) and other radio and navigational equipment. ''> Registers deck loads accurately during their watch. ''> Maintains logbooks, planned maintenance systems, and spare part control for deck-related equipment. ''> Assists with medical emergencies as needed. ''> Participates in daily pre-shift meetings. ''> Serves as primary Vessel Security Officer, maintaining the Vessel Security Plan and conducting security drills. ''> Folllows current MARSEC levels onboard. ''> Familiar with all relevant McDermott procedures, including SMS, applicable to duties. ''> ''> Takes part in emergency and occupational training onboard, such as self-contained breathing apparatus use, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills, and/or other training applicable to function. ''> Cares for required PPE.
