Job Description

Mass Timber Engineer Role We are seeking a skilled Mass Timber Engineer to join our team. This role will involve providing structural design and detailing for mass timber structures across various projects. About the Role This position requires a strong background in structural design, with experience in CLT and Glulam design. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of Canadian Codes and Standards, as well as the ability to align structural designs with production and assembly requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to adjust to changing priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities will include: Structural design of mass timber structures Developing prototypes and building profiles Overseeing and mentoring junior engineers in structural design Creatingsound engineering solutions that align with manufacturing and assembly requirements Required Skills and Qualifications The following skills and qualifications are essential for this role: Strong knowledge of CLT and Glulam design Experience applying Canadian Codes and Standards Ability to balance customization and standardization in designs Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Takes initiative and applies a solutions-focused mindset A minimum of 2 years of experience in structural design is required, with proficiency in gravity and lateral structural design according to Canadian Codes and Standards. A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is also required, with a master''s or PhD considered an asset. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is also an asset. Working Conditions and Environment This role is primarily office-based with standard business hours. Occasional travel may be required to project sites and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a typical manufacturing environment, including noise, dust, and variable temperatures.
