The position requires sensible consideration, technical expertise, and understanding, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other stakeholders and rightsholders.**Additionally we are open to hiring this role at the Consultant level or Sr. Consultant**Please note that the consultant role is a junior level position, with opportunities to grow your career at a leading global professional services firm.What you will doAssisting on major projects for public (federal, provincial, municipal, First Nation government) and private sector (e.g., critical infrastructure asset owners) clients across a wide variety of industries and sectors including transportation, social infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, and natural resourcesAssist in the development of emergency response plans, state of readiness assessments, logistics plans in relation to emergency response, and disaster recovery plansAssist with assessment of climate risk, and the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance the resilience of communities and critical infrastructure in relation to emergencies and disasters exacerbated by climate changeAssist in the assessment of potential hazards, vulnerabilities and risks that could impact communities and critical infrastructure and recommend adaptations to foster resiliencyAssist in coordinating response efforts for ongoing or anticipated emergencies and disastersPrepare and distribute reports and proposalsPrepare proposals for RFP submissionsPerform research, data gathering and analysisAssist with the development and review of engagement reports and technical project reviewsAssist in preparing strategic plans, business plans and business casesContribute to a dedicated team of professionals in delivering advisory services to clientsWhat you bring to the roleBachelor's degree in Climate Risk/Resilience/Adaptation, Geography, Engineering, Emergency Management, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of progressive experience in emergency management, business continuity, climate adaptation, critical infrastructure protection or a related fieldExcellent project management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in an exciting environment and to prioritize and care for multiple tasks.Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal policies related to emergency management and critical infrastructure protectionCertifications in emergency management, business continuity management, logistics, climate adaptation, or related fields would be an assetKPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $54,000 to $89,900 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
