**Please read through the job description. Thank you.** Shakespeare Homes & Renovations Inc. is an award-winning custom home builder and renovation firm based on the North Shore. We are currently seeking an experienced and capable Carpenter with the skills and knowledge to manage full-scope carpentry work. This position is ideal for a well-rounded professional who takes initiative, works efficiently, and can execute tasks with minimal supervision. We are looking for a proactive team member who understands residential construction holistically and can contribute meaningfully to each phase of the build process. Please note: **this role is not suitable for individuals who specialize only in finishing, drywall, or roofing. We are seeking a skilled carpenter with full-cycle construction experience.** **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute carpentry tasks across all phases of residential construction: framing, structural work, and some finishing * Interpret and work from architectural drawings and specifications accurately * Perform tasks independently with strong attention to detail and craftsmanship * Collaborate with the Project Management team and site leads to complete job specifications effectively * Work on large custom high-performance homes and major structural/energy retrofit renovations from framing to finish * Produce efficient work **(FAST)** and high-quality results **(ATTENTION TO DETAIL)**, while maintaining job site organization and safety * Provide direction to labourers and junior carpenters, assisting in daily site coordination * Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company procedures * Identify and report any drawing errors, defects, or unexpected variations to the Site Lead or Project Manager * Operate and maintain hand and power tools with a focus on safety and efficiency * Maintain a clean and professional job site, adhering to health and safety standards * Complete a daily job site journal with progress updates, as directed * Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges * Adhere to all safety protocols and site regulations **Qualifications:** * Legally eligible to work in Canada (valid work permit if applicable) * Minimum 10 years of residential construction experience (frame to finish) * Red Seal or Journeyman certification (or equivalent experience) * Proven ability to complete projects from foundation through finishing * Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope documents * Strong working knowledge of BC Building Code and general building practices * Proficiency in various construction techniques, including framing, finishing, and renovations * Level 1 First Aid certification * Drivers license with reliable transportation (mandatory) * Physically capable of performing demanding site work, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods of physical activity **Preferred Attributes:** * Highly motivated and proactive with excellent problem-solving skills * Skilled with hand and power tools, and knowledgeable in material usage * Effective communicator and collaborator * Organized, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct * Detail-oriented, professional, and reliable with a strong work ethic **Important Notes:** * All job sites are located on the North Shore.
