Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and execution of capital improvement projects across public-facing and operational infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing services.This role offers a dynamic blend of office-based project coordination and on-site oversight, working with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of infrastructure improvements without impacting day-to-day transit operations.Please Note: This is a 6-month contract, with possibility of extension. Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead and manage assigned infrastructure projects through design, construction, commissioning, and handover.Coordinate project documentation, procurement inputs, risk assessments, reporting, and approvals.Oversee contractors and vendors to ensure work complies with standards, safety regulations, and agreed timelines.Monitor site activities to identify safety or quality issues, resolve conflicts, and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, safety, operations, customer service) to minimize operational and customer disruptions.Maintain updated project schedules, status trackers, risk logs, and stakeholder communication plans.Conduct regular site visits and inspections using mobile tools and apps.Ensure work plans and site activities meet occupational health and safety standards.Coordinate Right-of-Way access, flagging requests, and site-specific permits for corridor work.Support customer service teams by identifying and addressing construction-related impacts on customer experience.Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the project delivery cycle.Qualifications and SkillsAt least 5 years of experience managing infrastructure projects, preferably in transit, public facilities, or operational environments.Solid understanding of design/construction standards, project scheduling, cost control, procurement processes, and contract administration.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and comfortability liaising with both technical teams and frontline staff.Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio); experience with project scheduling software and mobile inspection tools is a plus.EducationDiploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering Technology, Building Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.Nice-to-HavesExperience managing projects in customer-facing environments like train stations, terminals, or service facilities.Familiarity with Right-of-Way construction planning or active railway corridor work.Demonstrated ability to proactively mitigate issues related to safety, public access, or customer satisfaction during live construction.Valid Class G Drivers License and access to a vehicle during work hours.
