Location: Vancouver, BC (Mt. Currently, we are the largest Canadian retailer of local/handmade goods, with 19 retail locations across British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, with aspirations to scale to over 30 locations. At Shop Makers you wont just be part of a growing small business; youll be a key player in our mission to empower local artisans and make a positive impact on the cultural fabric in communities across Canada!Key Responsibilities:Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up accounts on platforms such as Lattice, WhenIWork, QuickBooks, Manulife and RWAM Health Benefits etc., and ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.Handle employee contracts for multiple provinces and enforce policies addressing issues such as bullying, harassment, etc. Managing Record of Employment (ROEs) and ensuring compliance with labor laws.Develop and execute onboarding and advanced training initiatives for store management. Create and update training documentation to ensure consistency and effectiveness.Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates. Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, screening interviews, and onboarding for new employees.Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment. Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.Oversee talent and performance management, including performance reviews and coordinating training and support initiatives.Help coordinate additional training for employees interested in advancing within the company. Contribute to succession planning initiatives.Track and analyze HR metrics, including retention rates and employee engagement. Provide insights and recommendations based on data to improve HR processes.Requirements:Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Proven experience in HR functions, preferably in a similar role.Knowledge of labor laws and regulations in multiple provinces.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Location and Schedule:This is a hybrid remote position based in Vancouver, BC, with the requirement to work 2 days a week in our Mt. Pleasant office.
