In this role, you’ll help scale and optimize core technologies such as Integrated Network Management (INM), Automated Interconnections, and System-Wide Dynamic Maps—tools that are reshaping how utilities plan, operate, and deliver service.Your insights will empower smarter design, planning, and operations across the Asset Strategy & Operations (ASO) division. If you thrive at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and innovation—this one’s for you.What You’ll DoAutomate with Purpose: Design, optimize, and maintain Python, R, and SQL-based scripts to automate complex data workflows across the ASO ecosystem.Deploy Powerful Grid Tools: Champion the adoption of next-generation tools including INM, Automated Interconnections, and Dynamic Maps (e.g., Hosting Capacity, Connection Capacity, Asset Utilization, Inspection Mapping).Drive Data Integrity: Lead end-to-end data validation and quality assurance, ensuring robust, error-free systems through advanced testing protocols and automation.Build Meaningful Visualizations: Translate complex data into intuitive dashboards, reports, and geo-spatial insights that guide strategic utility decisions.Lead from the Center: Act as a key contributor across cross-functional teams working on grid modernization, providing structure and clarity to technical discussions.Continuously Improve: Establish best practices, frameworks, and scalable solutions that improve how data supports business intelligence across the grid.What You BringA degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical preferred), or a related discipline.Mastery in Python, R, SQL, and hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or other data visualization platforms.Working knowledge of distribution utility systems such as INM, GIS, DMS, ADMS, and SCADA—particularly in the context of planning and operational analytics.Strong grasp of data architecture, system mapping, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.Experience supporting or learning about electrical distribution systems, and how data fuels their evolution.Familiarity with the Ontario utility sector and its key players is a plus.An agile, adaptive mindset with a passion for building smarter, more sustainable solutions.Why It MattersYour work will directly impact how communities access reliable, intelligent, and future-ready energy systems.
