**Job Title:** Payroll Specialist Job Description: We are seeking an experienced payroll specialist to oversee and process bi-weekly payroll for salaried, hourly, full-time, part-time, and contract staff. The ideal candidate will ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and in compliance with employment standards, collective agreements (if applicable), and government regulations. The successful candidate will manage payroll systems and data integrity, ensuring accurate employee records, pay rates, tax information, and deductions. They will also supervise and support payroll staff, providing guidance and training as needed. Key Responsibilities Include: Oversee and process bi-weekly payroll for various types of employees; Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including pay rates, tax information, and deductions; Ensure compliance with employment standards, collective agreements (if applicable), and government regulations; Supervise and support payroll staff, providing guidance and training as needed; Collaborate with HR to ensure timely updates of employee data, benefits changes, leave tracking, and terminations. Required Skills and Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you should have a post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation in good standing with the National Payroll Institute is highly desirable. In addition, you should have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a non-profit or unionized environment. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and best practices is essential. You should also be proficient in payroll systems such as ADP, Ceridian, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, or similar platforms. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications is required. A strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillset is necessary for success in this role. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion is also required. Benefits: This role offers a competitive salary range of $82,592 - $88,133 per year.
