At Red Door, we believe in dignity, inclusivity, equity, and advocacyand were looking for a passionate HR leader to help drive our mission forward.The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee our HR function. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Executive Director, responsible for strategic and day-to-day HR operations across the organization. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all employment legislation and the Collective Agreement while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.This role will lead labour relations, recruitment, policy development, performance management, and employee engagement. Youll work closely with senior leadership and staff to support our dedicated team and help build organizational capacity in alignment with Red Doors mission and values.Key responsibilities:Lead, plan, and evaluate all aspects of the Human Resources departmentSupervise and support the HR CoordinatorManage the full range of HR processes, including recruitment, policy development, wage/salary changes, payroll reporting, and recordkeepingEnsure compliance with all employment legislation, health and safety regulations, and Red Door policiesLead labour relations, including grievance resolution, contract negotiations, and Collective Agreement interpretationSupport annual staffing and budget planning with the senior leadership teamCoordinate or deliver employee training and regulatory requirementsConduct workplace investigations and resolve conflicts and complaintsManage accommodation and return-to-work processes in accordance with Human Rights legislationProvide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management and employee developmentConsult with external legal counsel and HR service providers as requiredEnsure payroll compliance in partnership with Finance and senior leadershipOther duties as assigned by the Executive DirectorQualificationsDegree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related fieldCertificate in Human Resources Management from an accredited institutionCHRP or CHRL designation preferred; HRPA membership in good standingMinimum 5 years of experience in an HR generalist or leadership roleStrong understanding of HR legislation, including ESA, Human Rights, AODA, OHSA, and Pay EquityExperience with HRIS (Humi), payroll systems, and employee file managementProven ability to lead HR initiatives in unionized settingsStrong communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skillsHigh level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligenceExcellent computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Strong people management skills and the ability to effectively manage and support staff.Strong verbal and written communication skills, who is sensitive to others, an active listener and non-judgmental.Sound judgment and excellent problem-solving/crisis-management skillsGood decision-making skills with the ability to motivate and direct others.Good conflict management and dispute resolution skillsFlexibility to work changing 24x7 environment, deadlines and supporting organizational needsAbility to learn on the job and apply new processes and procedures.Why Join Us?Make a meaningful impact in the lives of families and individuals experiencing homelessnessBe part of a collaborative, mission-driven teamLead HR initiatives that support equity, dignity, and community healingCompetitive compensation and benefitsOpportunities for professional growthApplications will be accepted until the position is filled.We thank all applicants.
