Come join the VCC community as we shape the future together. **Position Summary** This position is responsible for teaching students in an assigned field of study using a diverse set of instruction methods and tools. The position develops curriculum, prepares teaching materials, provides assessments of students progress. It ensures the proper stewardship of college facilities, equipment and other inventories. The position is also responsible for upholding the Colleges policies and procedures and for participating in meetings and events and on committees. **Duties & Responsibilities** * Teaches students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects. * Develops curriculum and prepares teaching materials and outlines for courses including audio visual and web-related materials where appropriate. * Prepares, administers and marks papers, tests, exams and other assessments to monitor and evaluate students progress. Provides detailed feedback on student performance. * Assists and provides support to students and potential students by advising on program curricula and career decisions. * Provides individualized or group tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it. * Maintains effective stewardship of classroom facilities, equipment, materials, software and tools. * Arranges for and supervises independent or group projects, field placements, laboratory work or hands-on training. * Adheres to VCC policies and procedures including being available to students and maintaining confidentiality of student information. * Participates in departmental and college meetings and events. Consults with other College departments and may serve on committees concerning matters such as budgets, curriculum revision, and course and certificate or diploma requirements. * Performs other related duties as required. **Area Hiring Criteria** * A masters degree in IT, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field, and a combination of education and professional experience directly related to managing complex IT or technology & innovation based projects (min 2 years), OR a Bachelors degree in IT, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field, and a combination of education and professional experience directly related to managing complex IT or technology & innovation based projects (min 5 years). * Successful postsecondary teaching experience (preferred) * One or more IT certifications such as (but not limited to): CISA, CISSP, CCNP, CISM, AWS certified solutions architect associate, MS certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or CGEIT. * At least one of (more preferred): + Experience managing IT or technology & innovation based projects using data analytics and visualization tools e.g., Power BI, Tableau; OR + Experience with cloud infrastructure principles and technologies e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. Plus, related certifications; OR + Strong understanding and relevant experience in ITIL and IT Service Management, IT architecture, IT security, privacy, and risk management. Plus, related certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM. * Experience working with international students or overseas working experience (preferred). * Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines. * Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. * Experience in curriculum development and course design (preferred). * Provincial Instructor Diploma (PID) (preferred). **Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE** $70.44 - $112.87/hour. Staring salary will be determined by education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the VCCFA Collective Agreement.
