As a key driver of VFSs talent strategy, youll lead innovative recruitment efforts that attract and secure the industrys best. Your work will extend beyond hiringyou will build out and facilitate our recruitment strategy across the school. This will include retention and succession plans that ensure our team members grow and flourish in an environment that fosters creativity and excellence. **Responsibilities** * Proactively work with hiring managers, to understand their unique needs and develop and implement hiring strategies to provide a qualified and diverse candidate pool and maintain a stable long-term pipeline of talent * Manage full cycle recruitment: Provide a positive experience for candidates from application stage to offer, evaluate skill level and fit, drive the interview and offer process, including phone screens, reference checks, salary recommendations, and hiring of candidates * Leverage all available talent channels including, LinkedIn, job sites, social media platforms, partnerships with professional associations, alumni groups, and industry networks. * Guide and coach hiring managers on interview skills and recruiting best practices * Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing candidates timely, thoughtful and engaging messaging throughout the hiring process and guide successful candidates through our hiring process onto the onboarding stage * Familiar with student visas, work permits, post secondary work permits and Canadian immigration requirements is a bonus* but training can be provided * Knowledge on basic employment law required for employment agreements, contractors and benefits to ensure compliance and legislation regarding recruitment activities * Provide recruitment data and reporting on all recruitment activity and targets through MS Office, google docs, excel, online surveys and Ceridian Dayforce * Keep up to date with market trends, compensation changes, attraction strategies, retention initiatives and develop effective compensation structure for recruitment purposes * Update job postings to better encompass the unique culture and attract the right talent for each role. * Continually make improvements to the recruitment process and recommendations for the onboarding program through hiring manager feedback, new hire check ins, and exit surveys **Qualifications** * Approximately 2+ years of recruiting experience with sourcing and full life cycle recruiting * Experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects and industry relationships * Experience building and driving talent sourcing initiatives * Experience working with recruiting and people-related tools and systems, internet sourcing tools and spreadsheets. * Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative, build strong, productive relationships * Organized, self-motivated, friendly, problem solver and tech savvy * Willingness to get involved in HR projects and other duties as required **A day in the life of Vancouver Film School** There is no such thing as an ordinary day when you work at Vancouver Film School.
