Title: Working Foreman, Landscape Reports to: General Supervisor Community Builders is Simcoe County & Greater Sudbury''s leading Not-for-Profit Construction based Social Enterprise. We provide training, employment, and affordable housing to meet the growing needs of our communitys most vulnerable and at risk populations. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual to lead our landscaping crew as the Landscaping Crew Foreman, with a primary focus on grass cutting and maintenance. As the Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality and efficiency of grass cutting services, and leading by example to motivate and guide your team members. Why work with CB? * Get more impact from your work by contributing to our mission * Organizational commitment to work-life balance * Join our supportive team **Responsibilities** * Supervise and coordinate the activities of the landscaping crew, with a specific emphasis on grass cutting and lawn maintenance tasks. * Lead by example in executing high-quality grass cutting techniques, including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing, to achieve superior results and meet client expectations. * Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members, ensuring each member understands their role and responsibilities and has the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively. * Provide hands-on training and guidance to crew members on proper grass cutting techniques, equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. * Conduct regular inspections of job sites to assess the quality of work performed, identify areas for improvement, and address any issues or concerns promptly to ensure customer satisfaction. * Monitor crew performance and productivity, track work progress, and adjust schedules or workflows as needed to optimize efficiency and meet project deadlines. * Maintain open communication with clients, property managers, and supervisors to address any questions, concerns, or special requests promptly and professionally. * Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use and maintenance of equipment, personal protective gear, and adherence to safe work practices. **Qualifications** * Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care, with a strong focus on grass cutting and maintenance, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role. * Proficiency in grass cutting techniques, equipment operation, and landscaping best practices, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. * Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and coordinate a team of diverse individuals to achieve common goals. * Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities to address challenges, resolve conflicts, and adapt to changing circumstances on job sites. * Valid driver''s license and clean driving record, with the ability to operate company vehicles and transport crew members and equipment to various job sites. * Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and occasional overtime as needed, depending on project requirements and seasonal workload fluctuations. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve common goals **Working Conditions** * Work in all weather conditions outdoors * Daily routine will often vary * Lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment over 50lbs may be required * Ability to stand for long periods of time * Monday to Thursday - 40 hour weeks - Some hours outside this schedule may be required * Must have steel toed shoes, hard hat and a smart phone Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal Contract length: 3-4 months Pay: $23.00 per hour Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * Day shift * No weekends Licence/Certification: * G Class Driving License (required) Work Location: In person Application deadline: 2025-06-24
