This is NOT a Data Scientist role.What we offer.We offer you competitive compensation, a generous wardrobe discount, a subsidized group benefit plan and a great opportunity for growth and development as part of our dynamic team!What you will doWorking directly with the Executive Managing Director, you will Assist in development and management of Open to Buy (OTB) merchandising budget, gross margin targets and allocation of funds by style, color, size to ensure achievement of seasonal sales and sell through targetsPrepare assortment buying plans consistent with sales budgets and historical and anticipated fashion trendsDevelop, execute and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans to support sales, product and marketing objectivesIdentify and analyze opportunities and risks associated with the business financial position and trending performanceMonitor inventory movement, develop forecasts and manage replenishment system to maximize in-stock positions in key items and fast-selling retail marketsManage in-season profitability to achieve/exceed seasonal performance at category levelLead merchandise allocation and consolidation processes across national retail chain to maximize sales and gross margin profitability and support key window and promotional campaignsDevelop exit strategies and assist in markdown execution on aged and slow-moving inventory to maximize sales and retail floor space productivityCollaborate with Merchandising, Retail Operations, Ecommerce, Marketing, IT and Finance staff to ensure effective implementation and execution of national strategies and plans and in-season adjustmentsConduct in-season and post-mortem analyses of sales and inventoryParticipate in senior management meetings to provide analytics, key performance metrics, insights and recommendations to meet financial objectives and ensure effective inventory managementAssess new assortment launch plans, identify risks and opportunities regarding product, flow, sizing, depth and presentation for omnichannel businessPerform other related special projects, ad hoc reports and duties as assigned.What you bring to the teamEquivalent of post-secondary diploma or degree in merchandising, business, or a related field of study5 to 7 years of relevant progressive experience in planning, inventory management or demand forecasting, preferably in shoe or apparel retail industry.Proficient computer skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups; knowledge of macros and Microsoft Dynamics/Navision is an assetExceptional mathematical abilities and quantitative and analytical skillsFluent English written and verbal communication skills essentialQuick learner with ability to solve problems, use critical thinking and apply sound judgment in resolving problems and escalating to senior management when necessaryGood interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player with Finance, Ecommerce, Merchandising, Retail Operations and Company ownersHigh degree of discretion and confidentiality with mature judgment and integrity critical in safeguarding competitively sensitive informationDemonstrated high degree of work organization and attention to detailSelf-motivated with strong initiative and ability to work independently or as a team playerDemonstrates a sense of ownership and responsibility in task completion and follow up of commitmentsAbility to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, transition between tasks and flexible to adapt quickly to changing priorities while working under pressure and within time constraints to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHard working, positive, can-do attitude with ability to accept and learn from feedbackExcellent attendance and punctuality with a strong work ethic, conscientiousness, and reliabilityAbility to follow directions and comply with work instructions and health and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.If interested and qualified (or know someone who is) please submit resume in confidence to: by July 18, 2025
