**Position Summary** The Sub foreperson, Millwright is responsible for providing hands-on leadership in municipal facilities maintenance and repair, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems. This role serves as a working foreperson, providing trade expertise in industrial machinery, and mechanical equipment and component work while coordinating and guiding maintenance teams. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead and support maintenance teams in the repair, installation, and servicing of municipal facility systems. * Perform hands-on skilled trades work. * Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure compliance with municipal policies and safety regulations. * Conduct facility inspections, identifying maintenance needs and prioritizing repairs. * Maintain an inventory of tools, materials, and equipment for facility maintenance activities. * Assist in coordinating preventative maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of municipal assets. * Respond to urgent repair needs, troubleshooting mechanical and structural issues. * Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance staff on proper procedures and best practices. * Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and confined space entry protocols. * Maintain accurate records of work performed, maintenance schedules, and equipment inspections. **Position Requirements** *Education & Certifications:* * Certification of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (Seal 433A) Skilled Trades Ontario. * Valid Ontario Class G drivers license. *Experience:* * Minimum 5 years of experience as a Millwright ticketed journeyperson in facilities maintenance or skilled trades, including supervisory responsibilities. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* * Skilled Trades Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, structural maintenance, and trade-specific repairs. * Equipment Operation: Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, power equipment, and diagnostic systems. * Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of workplace safety standards, building codes, and maintenance best practices. * Problem-Solving: Strong ability to assess operational challenges and implement effective solutions. * Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating teams, responding to inquiries, and reporting incidents. * Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external interest-holders Additional Information: The Corporation of The City of Cornwall strives to promote and demonstrate the values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
