If you have a passion for building a better community and are ready to join the excitement, wed love to hear from you! **The Opportunity:** The Transit and Active Transportation Assistant will be responsible for on-street assessment of transit customer amenities including conducting transit stop and active modes (such as shared e-scooters) assessments to ensure they are safe and operational. Responsibilities include: * Conduct regular field assessments and document the condition of transit customer amenities within the City * Ensure compliance with third party transit and micro mobility contracts, escalating incidents or service requests as needed * Report and coordinate the repair of any vandalized or damaged transit or active transportation on-street infrastructure * Execute and assist with projects and programs in alignment with City strategies to encourage use of transit and active modes * Participate and assist with Transit and Active Transportation community events * Participate in activities related to continuous improvement and support the implementation of new processes and/or procedures * Manage transit fare media inventories and provide distribution to external outlets * Prepare and review sales outlet invoices * Leverage industry training opportunities, both within the organization, and externally, for professional development * Maintaining cleanliness at designated bus stops by replacing garbage bins and cleaning up debris or messes to ensure a safe and tidy environment for residents * Provide back up coverage for the Customer Service Administrator as required **You Bring:** * Post secondary certificate or diploma in customer service, recreation or business administration * Valid Class 5 drivers licence * Two (2) years of experience working in fast-paced customer service environment or related position * Experience implementing projects and multi-phase plans with continuous monitoring and reporting * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Experience with transit or active modes of transportation is considered an asset * Experience in property management is considered an asset * Experience in contract management is considered an asset * Experience in municipal government is considered an asset * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook * Ability to develop rapport with external customers and contractors * Self-starter with strong ability to work independently * Strong customer service orientation * Ability and willingness to work outside in all conditions * Ability to be a positive influence in a team setting, and develop strong working relationships **We Offer:** Along with a competitive compensation program and City paid health and dental premiums, our employees also enjoy: * Excellent health, dental, paramedical, and benefits plan * First-in-class pension plan * Career development and tuition reimbursement * Employee discounts, annual adult Genesis Place pass, social events, and health & wellness initiatives Continuous learning through training and development is encouraged as are flexible work arrangements, when possible.
