As a Coordinator, Training, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a wide range of training activities across Emergency Management & Community Safety (EMCS). You will ensure that employees receive the necessary training to perform their jobs effectively and comply with organizational standards. In addition to peace officer training, you will coordinate broad training programs and delivery across EMCS. Primary duties include: * Organize and coordinate training sessions including booking venues, arranging necessary materials, and scheduling trainers and participants. * Support trainers through the preparation of training materials, equipment set up and resolving logistical issues. * Engage participants and ensure content is delivered effectively through a variety of mediums and methods. * Define and maintain high-quality training standards and align training with industry best practices. * Manage human resources including hiring, training, leadership and performance evaluation. * Coach direct reports in developing approaches to identifying and resolving issues, analyzing materials and responding to emerging opportunities. * Maintain detailed documentation of training standards and competencies. * Support effective training delivery and use surveys, tests, and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. * Collect and analyze feedback from participants, trainers and supervisors to identify strengths and provide actionable recommendations for areas of improvement. * Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare comprehensive reports to measure the impact of training on employee performance and organizational goals. * Engage with key partners and develop collaborative partnerships. **Qualifications** * A degree in Business, Education, Management or related area and at least 8 years of related experience in training development or a related field. * Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. * In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices, instructional design and evaluation methodologies, performance management techniques, and current and emerging training tools and learning aids. * A Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification or similar will be an asset. * Familiarity with law enforcement, public safety and emergency communications will also be an asset. * Your competencies include strategic thinking, well developed communication skills, a collaborative approach to problem solving, strong organization and planning skills, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships. **Pre-employment Requirements** * An enhanced security clearance will be conducted. * Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. **Note:** Please note all exempt positions at The City are undergoing a compensation review.
