The Director, Business Operations Readiness will provide leadership and direction to the Business Operations Readiness team, is a member of the Business Leadership Team (BLT), and works closely with other senior leaders within Payments Canada to deliver on its mandate. The Director, Business Operations Readiness plays a critical role within the Delivery pillar (CDO) and will work closely with the Transform pillar (CPO) and the Run pillar (CIO).| A day in the lifeYour responsibilities as the Director, Business Operations Readiness will include but are not limited to:Responsible for the development and delivery of all business operations processes & models, updates all relevant internal documentation, and ensures ongoing alignment with internal stakeholders (CIO team, finance team, etc).Define the program/projects target business operating model.Partner with the Financial Market Risk team to identify and ensure the completion of all activities required to ensure Payments Canadas adherence to Bank of Canada risk management standards in the delivery of projects and programs (e.g. Financial Risk Frameworks, Participation Monitoring Frameworks, Self-Assessment Frameworks, Suspension Playbooks, Contingency Playbooks, Financial Recovery Plans, etc)Align with the testing team to provide support and ensure readiness for operational readiness testing.Partner with the operational risk team to develop, implement, and execute or amend the crisis management plan, which includes business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the program/project once live.Develop/update the systems Service Level Description and all related operational readiness material.Work with internal teams to ensure Payments Canada readiness for ongoing operational audits.Ensure workstream activities are in alignment with the overall integrated project plan and budget for the program.Partner with the people change management team and other internal teams to identify changes to roles and responsibilities of Payments Canada resources and facilitate work with HR to prepare teams for ongoing operations.Develop appropriate training required for program/project end users (industry & internal).Stakeholder relationship managementWork with the Director of Industry Readiness & Deployment to align plans and transitionProvide thought leadership to all employees within the Business Operations Readiness function, which includes mentorship and development.| What you need to be successfulUndergraduate degree in Finance, Business, or related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in payment operations and/or payment program delivery in the financial services industry.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership role.Experience in providing guidance and reporting to senior management and maintaining confidence when challenged.A firm understanding of Payments Canadas business and payment system operations.Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitating stakeholder dialogue.A positive track record building new teams, designing strategic plans and implementing improvement initiatives in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.Government of Canada Reliability clearance or eligibility to obtain.| Salary rangeBased on qualifications and experience: $134,837 to 168,546.Please submit your application by: June 11, 2025.| What's in it for you?Flexible, hybrid (remote/office) environment.Competitive compensation package, including annual variable bonus and defined contribution pension plan with employer matching percentage (if eligible).Comprehensive health and dental benefit coverage, including mental health coverage, life insurance and a health spending account for you and your dependents (Permanent and temporary employees with contracts 12 months and over).Paid time off: minimum four weeks paid vacation, sick and personal days, December holiday shutdown and cultural holiday observance days.26 weeks of paid maternity and parental leave top-up.Rewards and recognition program.Access to office gym facilities.Internal and external professional development opportunities.| Our diversity, inclusion and equity commitmentAt Payments Canada, we are committed to making everyone feel they can be themselves and thrive at work.
