Job DescriptionThe main function of a disability calculation analyst is to complete calculations based on claims to ensure accurate financial payments and reserving methodology are achieved. The disability calculation analyst will also determine, calculate, and recover overpayments from claims.Typical Day in Role Prepare and review insurance claim forms and related documents for completeness. Review claims to determine whether or not claimant is covered under a policy, review policy to determine coverage, and evaluate the extent of a settlement. Authorize claim payments, set reserves on payments, ensure timely disbursement of funds Review salary information, hours worked, using this information to offset the weekly or monthly benefit payable to the claimantCandidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:1) Bilingual - French and English. Will be handling claims in both English and French with a higher volume in French.2) Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.3) Strong math skills. Role requires candidate to make calculations in day to day activities.4) Very comfortable with Office 365; most notably Excel and WordSoft Skills Strong attention to detail. Ability to make decisions in complex situations. Able to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisionsNice-To-Have Skills:- previous customer service/ financial experience
