Chief of Staff to Zabeen Hirji and Project Director, Purposeful Third ActPermanent Role | 3-4 days per weekHybrid | Toronto, OntarioHow will you contribute?As Chief of Staff to me (Zabeen Hirji) and Project Director, Purposeful Third Act (P3A), you will be at the forefront of creating a P3A movement as well as shaping the future of work and leadership in a world of AI and elevating the impact of HR leaders. Drawing on over three decades of executive leadership, including ten years as CHRO at RBC, Im now a strategic advisor to the business and public sectors, thought leader, and social innovator. Your role will be central in scaling my impact across all sectors and turning my purpose - to unlock human potential and build inclusive prosperity - into enduring systemic change.You will lead the strategic and operational execution of the Purposeful Third Act portfolio - driving cross-sectoral collaborations, activating new initiatives and aligning work streams - that support people in designing impactful third acts following full-time careers. You will advance my LinkedIn Top Voice and media commentator platforms, amplifying impact through public dialogue, content creation, and digital engagement. Through partnerships and co-creations with leaders across business, government, academia, and civil society, you will help build an ecosystem to inspire and enable P3Aers to contribute meaningfully and drive social and economic impact.This requires a blend of strategy execution, operational excellence, program leadership, and exceptional relationship skills. You will wear many hats: thought partner, impact optimizer, project manager, communicator, get-things-done person. Your role spans across two interconnected priorities:1. Chief of Staff to Zabeen Hirji Strategic Advisor: trusted advisor and sounding board, help shape priorities, manage competing demands, and align decision-making with strategic and operational goals. Keep my knowledge leading-edge/make me smarter through selectively sharing thought leadership.Operations Management: coordinate high-priority initiatives across my portfolio of activities, track key projects and ensure deadlines and objectives are met.Communications Lead: increase impact through next level communications, using external expertise selectively. My goal is to share ideas and experiences to inspire people to think and act differently.Connector and Driver of Collaboration and Co-Creation: seek individuals and organizations to collaborate with, build relationships and engage systematically.Facilitator and Time Manager: filter information and assess requests , optimize meeting outcomes, follow-ups on what matters most. Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and synthesize information for quick decisions.Special Projects and Problem Solving: lead or support high-impact, innovative, or urgent projects. Attend some meetings on my behalf.You will be well set-up to elevate impact to the next level. The current Chief of Staff has established processes and tools to manage my portfolio and optimize the impact. Administrative support is also in place. You will continue to streamline operations using digital and AI tools, and help me manage my time and effort. The goal is to optimize impact.2. Project Director, Purposeful Third Act (P3A)Operationalize P3A Strategy: bring the strategy to life through project plans, budgets, operational frameworks and processes.Drive Execution: manage key priorities, coordinate activities, assess impact (metrics), and recommend actions to course-correct.Grow Awareness and Mobilization: through communications establish P3A as a well-understood and inspirational concept.Build Partnerships and Alliances: expand and nurture a network of individuals and organizations to create an ecosystem to scale P3A.Integrate with Broader Portfolio: align P3A activities seamlessly with all other work.Your Experience and SkillsWe expect 5-8 years of relevant work experience, likely at a senior manager or director level, is required to be successful in this role, in addition to the following:Strong background in strategy, operations, consulting, or policyExceptional organizational, problem-solving, relationship and communications skillsHigh trust, discretion, and the ability to manage complexity and ambiguityIntellectually curious,Independent thinker with confidence to advocate for your ideasDigital and (Gen) AI proficiency and commitment to ongoing upskilling (comfortable with tools such as: Google Workspace, Canva (or similar), Apple/iOS, ChatGPT, or other LLM)Good social media skills, and an interest to build rapidlyStrong project management skills; manage multiple initiatives concurrentlyBuild partnerships and coalitionsIdeally you have an undergrad degreeAdditional Valued SkillsStrategic communications planning and execution, including executive-level speech and writing support, and elevating social media impactMore detailsThis role could be ideal for an experienced professional seeking high impact work and better work/life integration through working 3-4 days a week.You can combine impact with intellectual challenge, work with and learn from accomplished people across all sectors, with a flexible arrangement:Part-time position: 3 - 4 days depending on your skills and desire.
