Job Title: Senior Environmental Specialist We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team. About the Role: This role involves providing key support for environmental assessments, environmental monitoring, reclamation, regulatory applications, and permitting within both Saskatchewan and Alberta frameworks for the full life-cycle of projects. Key Responsibilities: Complete environmental monitoring for work in environmentally sensitive areas and on Crown Land. Complete environmental assessments to identify environmental sensitivities and permitting requirements for projects. Complete required pre-construction environmental assessments, including species surveys, nest sweeps, bird surveys, vegetation surveys, and wetland identification. Ensure all field work has been documented and uploaded to site-specific files, ensure all required documentation and data have been reviewed and are correct. Complete Detailed Site Assessments, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, and field investigations including any associated remediation and reclamation work for various oil and gas facilities. Assist with writing regulatory permitting applications and technical reports for oil and gas, utilities, transportation, and mining industries. Assist with general project coordination and project cost tracking. Act as a liaison between client, contractors, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders. Provide mentorship and direction to junior staff to monitoring, soil/vegetation assessments, and sampling. Actively participate in the Corporate Health & Safety Program. Travel for fieldwork to complete assessments and monitoring. Qualifications: Diploma or Degree from a post-secondary program in biology, environmental science, or a related earth science discipline is required. Meet the ''Required Qualifications: Field Environmental Monitors for Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Development Projects,'' Saskatchewan Petroleum Industry/Government Environment Committee (SPIGEC), Guideline No. 6, January 2002. 2+ years of environmental consulting in the oil and gas industry. Experience working with IOGC, OneStop, IRIS, and First Nations communities considered an asset. Experience with environmental consulting for upstream oil and gas projects including: environmental construction monitoring, reclamation, remediation, gas migration, and drilling waste. Biophysical pre-disturbance assessments such as vegetation, wildlife, wetlands, soil considered an asset. Working with heavy equipment (excavations, earthmoving) is considered an asset. Experience conducting species surveys using the Saskatchewan Species Detection Surveys and/or Alberta Sensitive Species Inventory Guidelines Survey Protocols. Vegetation identification skills, in support of the delineation requirements of the Alberta Wetland Classification System; Native Prairie, Forested, and agricultural vegetation identification are considered an asset. Previous experience in DSA''s, Phase I and II environmental site assessments is considered an asset. A valid Class 5 driver''s license, with a satisfactory driver''s abstract, as determined by X-Terra. Valid Standard First Aid CPR-C, H2S Alive, and TDG certification at time of position start. ATV/UTV/Snowmobile, Drone license, Ground Disturbance Level II certification is considered an asset. Experience driving off-road, towing a trailer, 4x4, and in all weather conditions.
