Job Title: Investigation and Learning Focal We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Investigation and Learning Focal . This role plays a critical part in promoting a strong safety culture, leading continuous improvement in incident investigation and learning practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. About the Role Develop and maintain incident investigation processes that align with internal frameworks and procedures. Foster a culture of learning across operations and contractor teams through coaching, mentoring, and analytical skills. Support investigations using structured tools, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop improvement plans aligned with organizational strategy. Deliver engaging, high-quality learning materials and embed learnings from incidents into day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities Maintain and continuously improve incident investigation processes. Facilitate and support investigations using Causal Learning methodology and other structured tools. Oversee competency development framework for investigation and learning, build, and maintain a group of qualified internal facilitators. Ensure regulatory compliance with reporting and documentation requirements. Develop and implement Improvement Plans for Incident Investigation and Learning. Conduct incident data analysis to identify trends, failed barriers, and behavior patterns. Requirements Post-secondary degree or certificate in Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 7 years of HSSE experience in industrial, petrochemical, or large project environments. Demonstrated experience in conducting incident investigations and facilitating learning from incidents. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to coach and influence teams and leadership. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Legally entitled to work in Canada (citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit). Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Kitimat/Terrace region. Valid driver''s license and ability to pass pre-placement medical and background screening. Preferred Qualifications Proficient in Causal Learning Methodology with experience leading investigations of varying complexity. Familiarity with barrier analysis and human performance evaluation. Experience developing and facilitating reflective learning sessions and improvement plans. Strong understanding of HSSE control frameworks and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
