Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler with forklift experience to join our dynamic team. The Material Handlers primary function is to handle, move, load, and unload material, mostly heavy metal, by hand or using a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution processes and maintaining a safe working environment.Location: Hamilton, ONPay Rate: $25 - $28 per hour ( depending upon experience)Shift: Day Shift 7am-3:30pm ( Monday-Friday)Why Join Us?Competitive payGrowth opportunitiesA commitment to safety, quality, and teamworkResponsibilities:Handle, move, load, and unload products and materials by hand or using material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and tow motors, using established safety precautions.Receive raw material from suppliers, verify goods received match the packing slip, and forward the signed packing slip to the shipper/receiver for processing.Count, weigh, sort, pack, and unpack various materials.Pick from stock or as receiver package, label, and record parts and material per work order bull of material. Organize parts and materials by work order/sub-assembly and supply to the assembly floor are required per the build plan.Pick up and deliver parts from/to suppliers and sub-contracting companies using the company trucks. Organize and schedule deliveries and pickups efficiently according to priorities.Rig, hoist. Move parts and material to storage areas or within the worksite using overhead cranes and forklifts using established safety precautions.Organize and label metal inventory, document job consumption following established procedures, and participate in physical inventory counts.Manage consumables inventory and prepare weekly re-order requirements for the Fabrication Foreman approval.Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed following the Occupational Health and Safety Act and participate in regular safety talks. Perform a visual inspection of equipment, including cranes, forklifts, cutters, and other tools, to ensure they are in safe working condition.Skills & Qualifications:A minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience in a large/heavy custom steel fabrication environment.Certificate in Crane and Forklift operation.Previous experience working within an ISO9001 environment is preferred.Should be able to lift between 50-75lbsDrivers License required.
