As a Golf Course Worker, you will perform a variety of duties individually or as a member of a crew under the direction of various supervisors. Primary duties include: * Operate the various machinery and tools used in the maintenance of the golf course properties * Perform manual labor tasks required to maintain the properties to a high level of detail, this may include but is not limited to tasks such as string trimming, manual excavations, landscape construction, etc. * Attend to Driving Range facilities by collecting and washing golf balls, restocking dispensers, and keeping the driving range areas neat and tidy. * Washing, fueling and staging of public rental power carts. * Pick up litter, complete general cleanup, basic maintenance and painting. **Qualifications** * Must be at least 18 years of age. * A valid Class 5 Driver''s Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits or a Graduated Driver''s Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending is required. * Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance will be considered assets. * Work as a team member, be aware of safety regulations and requirements and work safely, undertake all aspects of the job thoroughly and willingly. * Strong communication, planning and organizational skills; understanding of golf course operating practices; ability to deal effectively with a variety of customers. **Working Conditions:**Work is performed in all types of weather conditions. The work is physically demanding and may involve heavy lifting, prolonged bending, crouching, kneeling and climbing. **Pre-employment Requirements** * Must obtain a City of Calgary operator''s permit * Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. * Applicants may be contacted, interviewed, and hired throughout the duration of this competition. **Pre-employment Drug Test:** An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test.
