This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic and innovative library at the heart of a growing community.The Opportunity:As the CEO/Head Librarian, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day management of the Shelburne Public Library. Reporting to the Library Board, you will model and promote innovation, community engagement, and excellence in library services.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the Library Boards vision and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.Act as the public representative of the Library, building strong relationships with stakeholders, municipalities, and community groups.Prepare and oversee the annual budget, ensuring responsible use of public funds and compliance with policies.Optimize Library operations to ensure high-quality service delivery and efficiency.Manage, mentor, and develop library staff, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.Ensure the Librarys physical space is well-maintained, safe, accessible, and welcoming for all users.Oversee renovations, capital planning, and facility-related improvements.What it Takes to do the Job:Post-secondary degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) required.Minimum five (5) years experience in a senior library leadership role preferred.Strong understanding of public library services, emerging trends, and technologies.Proven experience in strategic planning, human resources management, and facility operations.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.Join a Vibrant and Growing Community:Shelburne is one of the fastest-growing communities in Ontario, blending small-town charm with big potential.
