While the position is primarily based in the office where you're hired, it also includes project-based travel to our Saskatoon lab and client sites throughout the yearoffering a great mix of collaboration, innovation, and field experience.Your role will contribute to our mission of developing sustainable solutions through conducting research, studies, analysis, and quality control and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Location:We welcome applications from candidates based in Vancouver, Calgary, and Saskatoon, or those open to relocating to one of these locations.Responsibilities:Technical lead on passive water treatment projects from initial site studies to pilot and demonstration scale through to implementation.Design, analyze, interpret, report on and provide recommendations on the basis of data from pilot and full-scale water treatment systems for the resources sector.Design passive water management and treatment systems through calculations and science based risk assessments.Apply commonly used calculations and screening parameters efficiently to water quality datasets.Create figures, tables, and summary bullet points for reports and proposals.Conduct senior technical reviews of documents written by others.Contribute to optimizing processes and operations.Maintain deadlines and timelines of projects and communicate potential timing/resourcing conflicts.Develop and implement processes that enhance productivity and efficiency.Coach, mentor and develop an energetic team of professionals focused on learning and increasing their knowledge and contributions for passive water treatment.Act as a strong brand ambassador, embodying the organizational values of having HEART: Hungry, Entrepreneurial, Accountable, Resourceful and Teamwork.Position Qualifications:Masters degree in Applied/Environmental Microbiology, Geochemistry, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Chemistry or a related discipline, with hands-on laboratory experience or on-site field experience.Preference will be given to applicants with 10+ years of applied experience in microbiological and/or geochemical analysis within environmental, mining, or water sectors.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.What Were Looking For:Experience acting in a client-advisory role.Experience with spreadsheets and other data analysis and visualization methods.Hands-on laboratory experience and/or field experience an asset, preferably including water sampling, photometers, multimeters, and dosing pumps, including preparation and execution of experimental designs and pilot project implementation.Analytical skills with the ability to interpret incoming scientific measurements.Scientific awareness, paying attention to real-time observations and results with proactive communication to other team members.A collaborative mindset that contributes to a positive and innovative team culture.Interest to grow and learn rapidly.You are capable of adapting and learning with evolving project needs.Additional skills that would be advantageous:Environmental microbiological analysis (16s community)Technical writingNon-technical scientific communicationsData analysis and representationStatistical analysisIntegrated SustainabilityIntegrated Sustainability is an award-winning provider of world-class sustainable Water, Waste and Energy solutions.
