Post will close June 20th, 2025. This position is based out of the Lacombe Central Office, however the location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant. The successful application will be required to be in the Lacombe Central Office as needed. However, periodically the position may be asked to work in other AFSC branches. Travel in these circumstances will be reimbursed according to AFSCs Corporate Expenses Policy. The People and Culture Advisor (PCA) plays a key role preparing our leaders and team members so they are ready for whats ahead. The role is responsible for providing AFSCs leaders with strategic HR and people management advice and consultative services that are founded on HR data and best practice research to design and deliver innovative people strategies and solutions. You will play a pivotal role in building a future-ready workforce, nurturing careers and engagement, and aligning strategic workforce planning and talent. Reporting to the Manager, People and Culture, you will achieve this through providing expertise to all levels of team members in areas such as strategic workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, performance, organizational design, coaching, and HR policy and procedure development through a data driven mindset. Additionally, through partnership and ongoing professional development, you will support the identification of HR trends within your respective portfolio and proactively find and develop solutions in alignment with organizational goals. What will you be responsible for? Relationship Management building effective working relationships to provide meaningful workforce insights Information and Business Advice provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures Employee Relations provide advice and guidance to leaders in developing, documenting, and communicating solutions for individual employee relations cases Policy Development and Implementation Enhance policies and focus on building a more agile and efficient operation HR Frameworks and Tools Partner with leaders to determine evolving workforce needs and contribute to the creation or HR frameworks, tools and people strategies HR Data and Analytics Identify key trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights and strategies that enhance AFSCs ability to deliver on its strategic objectives HR Information Systems Support the administration of HR and talent management strategies within the HRIS application (Dayforce) and provide support to team members in utilizing the system What are we looking for from you? A strong Human Resources Generalist background with solid technical knowledge of HR related policies, procedures and issues An innovative problem solver who turns challenges into practical, people-centered solutions Ability to manage complexity, optimize processes, understand and apply business insights to drive HR strategy, make good and timely decisions that keep AFSC moving forward, and create a climate where team members are motivated to do their best A demonstrated high proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills. Education & Experience Bachelor''s degree in business, human resources or a related field Five (5) years related human resources experience Human resources certification (CPHR) is considered an asset Candidates may be considered based on a combination of education and related experience. Experience in data literacy, project management, change management, policy and program development is considered an asset What else is in it for you?
