Department Head Trainee (Bakery Department)Join us to apply for the Department Head Trainee (Bakery Department) role at T & T Supermarket.Reporting to the Bakery Specialist and Store Manager, the Bakery Department Head Trainee (DHT) will undergo an intensive training program to familiarize with operational know-how, daily routines, management techniques, and learn how to run a department with profit and loss responsibilities. Upon successful completion, trainees will assume DH responsibilities based on their assessment results and will be responsible for delivering DH duties.T&T Supermarket Inc., founded in 1993 with two stores in BC, has expanded to become Canadas largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country, including BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The company's expansion plans include opening more stores in the coming years.Responsibilities include:Manage and supervise daily department operationsManage department performance and achieve goalsConduct quality and inventory control; oversee cleanliness, hygiene, equipment, and tools maintenanceProvide guidance and supervision to staff, ensure fair work distribution, and adherence to checklistsOffer coaching, on-the-job training, shadowing, and supervision to staffGreet customers with friendly service and enthusiasmPerform additional duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Requirements:Minimum 5 years relevant retail experience, with at least 3 years supervisory experience preferredKnowledge of workplace health & safetyBakery product knowledge, display, promotion, and packaging experience preferredUnderstanding of tools and equipment, ability to interpret labelsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsEffective people management and training skillsGood communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in MS OfficeFlexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysSafety StatementSafety is T&T Supermarkets top priority.
