Responsibilities Visionary Leadership: Provide leadership to guide the organizations mission, values, and long-term goals. Develop and implement the strategic plan in collaboration with the Board. Advocacy & Public Policy: Represent the organization with government officials, housing agencies, and partners on issues affecting small landlords. Monitor relevant legislation, regulations, and policies. Lead campaigns to influence policy decisions and public discourse. Operations & Program Management: Oversee daily operations, support educational programs, and coordinate with staff and volunteers. Enhance social media presence. Membership & Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with members and community organizations. Increase membership through outreach and retention strategies. Respond to inquiries and provide updates on legal issues. Fundraising & Financial Management: Develop the organizations budget, pursue funding opportunities, and ensure financial accountability and compliance. Board Relations: Act as liaison with the Board, provide updates, and support governance practices. Qualifications Proven leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or advocacy sectors. Basic knowledge of Ontarios housing and rental policies, including the Residential Tenancies Act. Strong communication skills, both online and offline; experience with media and policymakers is an asset. Experience in member organizations or grassroots advocacy is highly desirable. Ability to manage priorities, build partnerships, and lead initiatives. Success in fundraising, financial oversight, and organizational growth. About Small Ownership Landlords Ontario Inc.
