As RVP, Sales North America - East Region, you will play an integral role in the success of the group and be the leader of a team of sales professionals whose performance influences that of the overall East Region. This position reports to the Vice President, North America, Sales.In this role you will own the strategy and execution of the East region. You will establish and execute against a clear roadmap toward the next generation of partnerships for Anthology. Youll develop and incubate ideas to accelerate company strategic plans and drive revenue through creative and relentless deal execution and tracking. Youll build strategic relationships with the worlds most prominent technology and education leaders, identify opportunities for radical growth and large deals, and mature operational functions. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally with key members of Anthologys Strategy, Product Management, Product Development, and Field teams (sales and marketing), cultivating those internal relationships to contribute to identifying new solutions while also optimizing our current partnerships and book of business.Specific responsibilities will include :Managing the sales team that is selling into the higher education market to drive new-logo, expansion and win-back business for LMS, CRM, and other Academic Software solutions and associated professional servicesAchieving sales quota, revenue targets and other targets for performance by managing the sales teamCreating sales forecasts, maintaining the internal CRM and analyzing performanceDesigning and implementing scalable sales strategyManaging top strategic customers and prospects including managing varying stakeholders and a significant book of business while attaining sales goalsServing as a mentor to front line sales executives in solutions selling, executive relationship development and customer serviceDeveloping sales objectives, managing the development of plans, and consistently and accurately forecasting quarterly and annual revenue streamsEstablishing performance quality measures to help assess team and individual performance levelsReviewing regular results assessments of sales staff productivity and reports to executivesOverseeing activities of direct sales reports to ensure professional and effective services to customersPipeline and Opportunity management and forecasting the business on a weekly basisServing as escalation point for any customer or team issuesRepresenting Anthology at national conferences, customer meetings and other public forumsThis role requires approximately 50% travelThe Candidate :Required skills / qualifications :At least 10 years of professional sales experience with preference in higher education technologyHigh degree of personal integrity and ability to collaborate with others in a team-based environment Ability to advance innovative ideas through sound business case and partnership developmentBachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or Technology related areaAt least 10 years of professional sales management experience with preference in Higher EducationExcellent management, coaching, and mentoring skills with the ability to effectively direct the organizations sales and field operations to maximize revenues and profitsStrong listening and communication skills and style appropriate for the higher education industryIn-depth knowledge of and experience using Solution Selling methodology with preference in higher educationAbility to ramp up quickly and gain knowledge of companys products / services and pricing practicesExcellent time management, communication, decision-making, human relations, presentation, and organizational skillsProven ability to establish strategic alliances with key decision makers and effectively navigate the organization, combined with the ability to model and instruct direct reports to do the sameAbility to prioritize and delegate in a resource constrained environment and re-prioritize resources rapidlyMeaningful network among the technology and enterprise software community and / or the ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a large and diverse client and partner baseProficiency in sales and solution forecasting using a CRM tool with a consistent track record of accuracyFluency in written and spoken EnglishPreferred skills / qualifications :Sales leadership experience in the education sectorBase pay range is $180,000 - $225,000 / year plus sales compensation depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function.
